Key responsibilities:

Our client is seeking a Director of Marketing to be responsible for the marketing strategy and execution for one of the company's newest offerings. This is a truly unique opportunity to be a key, high-visibility player in an entrepreneurial environment within thier organization.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and delivering effective marketing and external communication plans and tactics, understanding the key issues of the business, and helping create the messages, positioning, and tactics that will resonate most effectively with current and new buyers, and to directly support sales goals. Areas of focus include product launches, sales tools, conferences and trade shows, advertising and web site strategy and execution. The Director of Marketing is responsible for implementing the agreed-upon marketing programs on time and budget and coordinating activities with the marketing teams for other lines of business to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to the marketplace.

The ideal candidate is experienced, high-energy, customer-focused, and creative, with an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. As well, the ideal candidate has a deep enthusiasm for online advertising and associated technology and applications.

Specific responsibilities include:

o Developing and revising product marketing plan, including identifying appropriate target segments and messages
o Providing help in market planning, including competitive analyses, market sizing, client segmentation, audience analysis, service definitions, and positioning
o Launching new versions of product and bringing new features to market
o Developing and implementing acquisition and retention/volume increase campaigns
o Managing participation in external events and trade shows
o Working with Product Management to determine product and marketing direction
o Participating in development of business unit annual strategic plan
o Executing the marketing plan and overseeing the development and delivery of a range of activities, including:
o Client collateral such as product overviews, white papers, case studies;
o Webcasts featuring subject matter experts on key topics in the business;
o Third party conferences and other client events (speech preparation, trade show booths, effective communication of complex content and messaging);
o Client communications, such as product release notes
o Annual Client Advisory Boards, User Groups and Insight conferences
o Directing resources in the areas of writing, editing, graphics, and production, and providing quality review and oversight, and in some cases, hands-on writing and editorial support
o Collaborating with leadership and subject matter experts within the business to coordinate messaging and timing of programs

Requirements include: (You need to meet the majority of requirements to be qualified)

o Minimum 8 years experience in Marketing, 4 years in leadership role
o Bachelors degree required, Master's a plus
o Industry Knowledge: In depth understanding, gained through experience, of dynamics of online advertising and overall advertising industries. Ongoing refresh of that knowledge through attending events, etc. Should be considered a subject matter expert.
o Client Knowledge: In depth understanding of business models of web publishers, advertising agencies and advertisers.
o Marketing Knowledge: Expert understanding of the role of marketing in organizations, the differences between B2C and B2B marketing, and the principles of direct marketing and advertising, gained through experience. Should be considered a subject matter expert.
o Business Knowledge: In depth knowledge of business dynamics and processes.
o Ability to effectively interface with senior-level executives
o Experience in dealing with industry analysts a plus
o Ability to independently develop solutions to meet business challenges
o Ability to direct and set priorities for less senior colleagues
o Highly-organized
o Ability to coordinate resources and drive results
o Superior writing, editorial and presentation skills
o High degree of comfort and ability working with cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams
o Strong client focus
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time
